Spinks wins a wide Dec, Mecer was a big puncher but I think Spinks has the tools to get the job done on points in his prime Spinks was a far better conditioned fighter and I think he beats Mercer easy on points..

Spinks by far is the better boxer, but green Mercer is far too strong and rugged, and would prolly wear Spinks down for a late rd TKO..........

Frans Damiani in 1991 was a good boxer with good size, but had a fragile beak that looked like a crooked dick..... But Mercer came back to stop the Italian...... Mercer has the power to stop Spinks, too.........

I think Michael out hustles Ray for a decision after a few rocky moments here and there.

I think Michael's angles and hand speed would bother ray far more then Ray's power and strength would.
It's not like Spinks can't take power, he took many flush left hooks from Cooney, and was able to muscle him around EASY...

If Mercer goes for broke, he could ICE Spinks early on.... But Mercer would need to be pumped and psyched to conclude "Bidness."

If Mercer lolly-gags about the ring, Spinks finds his groove and schools Mercer.....

    Fair call......

    Note:

Mercer was around 214 pounds when he was going to war and school with "Cooper and Damiani" back in 1990 and '91........... Come 1992 and 1993, Mercer was anywhere from 225 to 240 pounds and looking soft and lazy for "Holmes and Jess Fergy.......

This sounds like one of those weard fights where no matter what you predict, the opposite, or the unimaginable happens.. I'll go with Spinks by an ugly decision, but I say that with hesitation.
