Tubbs from the Bowe fight vs Foreman from the Young fight?

Would Foreman have another religious experience after this fight?

In shape and motivated Tubbs, slick as they come, big 6'3 235, fast, electrifying handspeed...

Foreman at this time with shaken confidence, not as agressive as in his peak, holding back and trying to box...

Tubbs makes a fool out of Foreman imo, maybe even stops him late as Foreman's stamina was so bad and chin also when tired... what do you think?

Tubbs was not as good in 91 as his peak.

His handspeed was off maybe 20 percnt from his peak

He couldn't move for the full distance without stints on the ropes and in clinches.

It was enough against a still green Bowe to deserve the decision, albeit it was close.

I would pick '85 Tubbs to outbox '77 Foreman for a UD

I would pick '91 Tubbs to get stopped late.

He fought off the ropes a lot against Bowe. Such a strategy would cost him against Foreman who would probably land something big and stop Tubbs around the 10th round.

but bowe was much more accurate puncher, foreman punches wide and telegraph his punches... besides it's not like tubbs was on the ropes the whole fight, he showed some good footwork and lateral movement

Good threads your coming up with tic. This tubbs was up for beating bowe and unlucky not to imo. He could definitely give that foreman a very hard time. A very cagey tough guy was tubbs. Perhaps he could do a jimmy young job on him.

thanks, i like match ups when you have one fighter atg and the other one a guy that is not accomplished and recognized but who could give him problems... boxing match ups should be decided on styles, not on accomplishment and legacy...

Tubbs couldve been so much more.
He had a terrific defence and was an excellent scoring counter puncher.
The Tubbs that won the title or the one that many thought should've got the verdict against Bowe, would give GF Plenty of problems if avoiding Foremans early bombs. Each time GF throws those wide swinging shots, Tubbs is in and out with scoring shots all night.
    Tubbs UD

I agree tic. Style s make fights as history has shown. There is always someone out there who may be doesn't have that perfect record going in against a guy that maybe a ATG, and that guy gives the great a harder time because of styles. The record of a boxer doesn't always tell the full story. Norton against Ali in one instance. Put Norton against most ATG he loses. Put him in with Ali... . Ali's lucky to win there fight s.

Certainly Foreman was smart to steer clear Tubbs in his second career.

77 Foreman by stoppage. Tubbs never had the greatest of whiskers and while 1977 Foreman was out of his element he still hurt Jimmy Young with some damn hard shots.
