The 42 year old holmes that challenged holyfield is replaced by the prime version. 12 rounds.

Holmes would win a UD, but it would not be easy.. And I would not be surprised if Evander wins a decision. Evander would always surprise, and Evander like it or not fought better competition than Ali ever did.

I think it could get really tough for both, great fight imo with the styles coming in to play. Both oblige immediately if caught hard. Imo its a suprising war between 2 elite all time heavies

I've said it before, in a way the older Holmes might have fought Holyfield better than a younger version. He fought their actual bout in a defensive manner and that allowed him to catch Evander with sneaky straight rights and uppercuts. The peak version was way more authoritative and aggressive which would leave him more vulnerable to getting tagged and hurt. Holyfield would win in a straight up dogfight as I believe he had more power and a better chin, I cant pick a winner here tbh.

Yes but holmes would have the upper hand in the middle of the ring with his jab(and holyfields tendency to eat jabs)

Holmes by a close but clear decision, perhaps 8 rounds to 4

    Holmes by UD

Larry would be the ring general, pumping the jab and following with right hands. Holyfield would land some right hands over Larry's notorious low left hand, but wouldn't have the power to hurt him.

Holmes should win a clear decision, 12 rounds.
But I'd rather see it 15 rounds.
    Would be a great fight.

Larry Holmes. The reason he lost was because he couldn't keep up with the work rate Holyfield set. And had to be more stationary. If Holmes was 10, 12 years younger, those things wouldn't have been an issue. I see Holmes by UD
