Holyfield almost did it in the rematch while being way past his prime. But for Ricky I think it would be uphill battle.
Rocky was light years better, tougher and more durable than 5'9" glass-jawed bum Justin Fortune who took better version of Lewis to 4th round. So I don't think Lewis would KO him in one. TKO6-8 is more likely outcome
You mixed up the 205lbs Holyfield from the Bowe 1 fight, with the 217lbs Holyfield from the Lewis 2 fight. I also don't know what Holyfield "almost did" in both fights with Lewis.
Almost beat. Lewis clearly won the first fight, but I think Holyfield edged the rematch or it should have been a draw
Few (or none) of the forum members will agree with this statement. It's an alternate boxing history. In that scenario, Holyfield would be the last undisputed HW Champion, not Lennox Lewis. I agree that their first fight should not have ended in a draw. But I don't agree that their second fight should have ended in a draw, much less Holyfield's win.. That's where the judges made a mess. Holyfield did show more than in the first fight, but not enough for a draw, and even less for a win. This content is protected
Well, Sir, if TM was 'light years better, tougher and more durable than blabla', can you please explain, why RM, in his prime, got floored by old lightheavyweights? Why RM had his nose split by a shot, old, former lightheavyweight?
Tua would stop Marciano within 3 rounds or less. No offence, Marciano was so incredible bad. RM could very well be candidate for worst champion ever, pound for pound.
By ATG LHW who was one of the greatest punchers of all time. Fortune, in comparison, was literally knocked out multiple times by bums
So, how do ya'll favor Inoue's chances against Beterbiev? How about Jimmy Wilde vs. Ray Robinson? Hagler vs. Tyson?
Gimme a break, Pal. A great heavyweight champion doesn't get floored by former great lightheavyweights who were great 5 years earlier. Rocky was a nice man, but just si Gimme a break, Pal. A great heavyweight champion doesn't get floored by former great lightheavyweights who were great 5 years earlier. Rocky was a nice man, but just sucks if we talk top 20 heavyweight champs. RM the worst champ in said division ever.
I know I would love to watch it. It would settle a lot of questions, yes? And it might add a question or two.
Both ATGs. 7inch height Difference, 40-50lbs weight difference. 17inch reach difference. Im going Lewis.
Marciano by knockout. Lewis was too green in 93 to be fighting Marciano. I see him getting caught early. If this was Lewis from 96 or later in top shape It could go either way, since Lewis was more versatile and improved a lot as he got more experience, which he would need every bit of against Marciano.
