Tyson could be as a accurate puncher as Holyfield and was much more efficient at timing the left hook under the jab...even in 95-96. The difference in the actual Holyfield/Tyson fight was Evander had Mike's punches and combinations well scouted. He let Tyson lead and reacted off what he did, often avoiding his punchers and countering with his own. Mike was still an accomplished combination puncher..as evident by the brilliant Mathis KO, but Evander broke his rhythym continously.

In terms of the...you know the topic at hand. Tyson would find the same openings for the left hook that the rusty Holyfield did against Mercer. Holyfield was actually fighting like a taller, slower Mike in the left hook barrage highlight I posted. Mercer doesn't really offer much more than 96 Bruno did, except way smaller, not nearly as strong and maybe a little more durable.

Mercer was far more durable than Bruno, and probably stronger.

it all depends if tyson could be bothered getting his arse into the gym and staying in there if the tyson who beat bruno turned up id say tyson in 7 if the one who fought holyfield turns up i think mercer breaks his heart late in the fight.
