1996 British prospects...what happened with their careers?

I tell people at BN to do profiles, top tens etc all the time and they never listen... as a kid my two top tens.... World and British accompanied me every time I put sky on and then i'd have a little info about every fighter. **** knows why they stopped doing it... I did a good one for BBn last year. Every fighter every weight division.

 

I remember Adie Lewis walking around like a baby Mike Tyson who soon found out that he needed a lot more than simply copying his style.

 

6 or 7 years ago Boxing Monthly predicted that Roman Greenberg would earn a Billion dollars in his career

 

Still he was decent... his fight with Peter Culshaw was a belter.

 

Why? Samuels was an excellent domestic prospect. I remember his war with Alexander when he got knocked out of the ring and when he fought Williams twice and Williams suffered a horrendous cut in the first bout. Samuels was no joke. It was a shame he just couldnt get together against the best guys domestically. He could definitly crack though and thats what made him so exciting.

 

Wasnt it his promoter that said that? Didnt Matthew Ellis's promoter say the same thing?

He was neve coming close to a European title though, maybe the article wasn't tipping him for that though. Always exciting, but nothing to suggest a massive amount of class.

 

Good read that Kos, interesting looking at it now, nice one for that.

I agree with Jeff BN should do more like this, or similar pieces.
