Golota gets a decision over George here.
A bit of a bad tempered fight, low blows from both and after bell shots.
Golota end's the fight cut and bruised but is awarded a close, majority decision.

Golota looks for a way out via fouls or simply quits when the going gets tough with Foreman. Foreman was still tough in 96'. In 97', he was on the bad side of a decision loss against the far more dangerous Shannon Briggs. Golota is about the most overrated fighter of the 90's. Folks that don't know any better overrate him based on his performances against the fighter formally known as Riddick Bowe. Bowe was a shell of himself in those fights.

George is too old at that point.

Foreman would not have fought Golota in 1996. Golota was too big, strong, and hit too hard. If GF had been younger and found that Golota had the problems that were revealed later, GF would have fought that version of Golota. GF was "discriminating" about who he would fight. If GF had wanted to fight Golota, he could have. GF could have fought anybody in the division. If GF didn't fight somebody, he didn't want to.

If, GF had fought AG, the AG who dominated Bowe would have probably knocked out GF. There was a reason that GF didn't get into the ring with Tucker, Lewis, Bowe, McCall, Ruddock, etc. GF avoided big, durable, hard hitting fighters.

Most likely Golota. Foreman had almost no KO power in 96, he went to decision with Grimsley who got KO’d in seconds by Thunder. Golota was an excellent technician and hit hard enough to get Foreman’s attention, he just outboxes and busts Foreman up to a UD.

A year or two earlier I would have favored Foreman.
but even at 48 it is enough for Golota to feel the "force" and leave the ring like against Tyson.
I doubt Golota would win because of his mental momentum.
Shannon "first round knockout" Briggs boxed on his back foot against Foreman a year later.
    P.S. Golota is not Morrison

Golata on points. By 1996 Foreman’s punches didn’t quite have the snap that they used to and he was getting painfully slow. Sure he could still fight and there might have been some top 10-20 guys he could still beat but this match up favors Golata

Foreman wouldn’t be able to take Golota out of his comfort zone in 96. Witherspoon didn’t.
