    Sigh!

I assumed that when Tarver knocked Jones int la la land, it would put an end to this nonsense.

It did for a while, but now we seem to be back to square one!

RJJ would try to outbox Marciano, but in a 15 round fight Marciano would eventually get him. The guy was always one good punch away from winning. Roy would have been no exception. The Rock by KO...

I think it would look like the first 'Jersey' Joe Walcott fight with Marciano being outhustled early but he'd have the threat of "Suzie Q" lingering as Roy tries to avoid being countered. Also, Marciano had shown the capacity to 'get the job done' if he's in danger of being TKOd like in the second Charles fight with his disfigured nose, which is a valuable trait to have.

Jones could theoretically win, but he'd have be absolutely perfect whereas Marciano would always have 'the great equalizer' in his power shots (such as "Suzie Q") to fall back on despite trailing on points.

This is a totally irrelavent thread.
    Marciano beat all he could.
Anyone who calls ANY reputable fighter..never mind an unbeaten champion a bum, shouldnt be taken seriously.
A totally pointless thread. You are not comparing like with like.
It's like saying...which do you like best, Steak or Ice cream ?

Jones’s record north of 175lbs, is beating Ruiz.

    That’s it!

Yes it is a good win, but it is his only win.

I don’t think it can be questioned that he had durability issues, even at 175lbs.

Marciano’s record north of 175lbs is one of the best resumes in the history of the division.

It is theoretically possible that Jones could win, but it would be entirely unjustified to favour him, based on the information that we have.

Nearly everyone who Jones fought at 175, and some at 168, entered the ring near or above Marciano's weight. You won't hear that, though.

    A. Provide a source.
    B. Its not like he fought the best at those weights, so he is still damned in this argument.

Janitor, sometimes being the voice of reason in a wilderness of idiocy is not worth the effort.

You'd pick Jones to beat anyone? So, you'd pick him to beat Lewis? Wladimir Klitschko? Both of those guys would put Jones in a coma.

This issue isn't Jones chin. Rocky has the kind of power that renders a chin obsolete.

He certainly won't counter from a southpaw stance as Jones is throwing the way Tarver did.
