It's hard to say until we see Golovkin in the ring with a truly world class fighters such as Ward.

Right now I would choose 2001 Hopkins by UD

That Hopkins was 40 years old and drained at the weight we are talking 99-01 Hopkins who was prime and capable of fighting at a high pace.

Taylor is also a completely different style to Golovkin. Taylor is a much more difficult style match up for Hopkins than Golovkin. Hell when I come to think about it Golovkin hasn't even beaten anyone as good as Taylor let alone Hopkins.

My thoughts exactly. All the same, I still feel confident in assigning Golovkin a decent chance to win at this stage. Far more a chance than some people in this thread, specifically.

Would they be even odds (50/50)? No. But I would not consider it off to have Golovkin at 40-60 or even better odds.

OK, GGG has CHANCE against anybody he faces, doesn't mean he's LIKELY to beat Hopkins. That said, I love Golov, good at picking his shots, very technical as well, he'll give Hopkins a tough night, and who knows, maybe in a few years this'll seem like a stupid question the other way?

Hopkins is just simply better . With that being said GGG has some great potential.
