1st Round - 140 Pound Tourney - Antonio Cervantes vs. Kid Berg

I think Cervantes will be able to outbox Berg, who can make life difficult, great fighter no doubt, but Cervantes will mix a few powershots and use the jab effectively to get a decision here imo.

 

I think an outstanding fight early with Berg setting the pace and Cervantes countering. I believe those counters would slowly take their toll. Cervantes TKO 10 over Berg.

Berg's edge in speed, and abilty to set a fast pace might enable him to gain an early lead, but like the others, I see Cervantes landing heavy shots in return, and eventually busting up the Whitechapel Whirlwind with well-timed counters as he finds his range more and more often. In round eleven, he times a Berg charge with a hook that freezes him, and connects with a followup right hand that drops him hard, and ends the fight.

I think this is a very close one. But I think Cervantes would remain consistent throughout the fight in the face of Berg's onslaught and do enough work to take a close decision.
