    I take Barney above Perkins. The fighter Perkins fought that comes nearest to Ross is Napoles and he lost to him. I think Ross repeats this feature.

    Ross will have his problems with Perkins' cagey style, as did most greats that Perkins fought, but I think Ross will show the more consistent jab and blunt most of Perkins' attempts to rough him up.

    After Ross wins the battle of the jabs, Perkins will try to roughouse him more and land shots at close range, and will do so with success, but not enough to overcome Ross, who will ride a few tough moments and escape with a clear cut duke, 9 rounds to 6.

    I think that Perkins would win. Eddie was no slouch at realising when he was in trouble, and he knew how to dig himself out. I think that he'd give up boxing as a primary strategy early doors and dig in, shading a very close disputed decision on my card via the aggression.

    I like Perkins as well in this one, however, I believe Ross was more fighter than boxer and it would be Eddie doing the boxing and countering with Ross as the aggressor. It shouldn't surprise us that we have subtle differences in our picks since they were both very similar type fighters. Perkins on a close 15 round decision.

    I see Ross moving well early, jabbing well, with Perkins being crafty, countering, but Ross has the s;ight upper hand. Perkins would likely become more aggressive, the bout may become somewhat Ross-McLarnin like, but with differences. Perkins starts to pile up points, but Ross sweeps some late rounds boxing for his life and mixing it when he must.

    Ross imo.
