****in hell, this one's difficult, for a few reasons. Lack of footage of Loi makes it difficult to judge him as a whole, but from what we understand he was said to have been an extremely effective bob and weave style pressure fighter with a granite chin. Would he be able to weave his way in on Ike and hang in the trenches with one of the most fearsome LW's of all time? I see most in-fighters as favoring Ike, but given Loi's noted defense, I'm not so sure. This is basically a 50/50 call, and I'll go with Williams on a flip.

In a day or two I'll up the 4 min of Loi that I've seen on film (from a loss to Jorgen Johansen and a win against Ray Famechon) to help make some sense of Loi's style. Won't be much of a help, I don't think, but it's something.

From what i know, this will be entertaining, Ike's probing with a jab and looking to destroy his opponent as always. Loi is looking to slip that jab and work away. Both absolutely great at what they do best respectively. This is a man that Ike doesnt stop imo, but Ike is also a man that Loi cant be defensively great against, he had too much of a rapid arsenal. Im torn on who to pick. Loi is the more proven great at the weight, but that nit-picking, Williams beat Kid Gavilan and likely had plenty of fights that were in between 135 and 140. I pick Williams to be getting outscored early, but turn the tide and work his ass off for a decision win, and land some telling blows on the way that would stop a lesser man.

Cant believe Loi is out (for me) already, i kind of hope others will keep him in!

I agree with everyone so far, that this is a merciless fight, but maybe moreso for the fans. I'm not so sure it would be entertaining. Loi had a real knack for nullifying an aggressor's style. What is definite is that it would go 15. I'm going to side very slightly with Loi W15 over Williams.

Williams KO9 after some back and forth in the early rounds, Williams breaks him down and gets to him with a brutal KO around the 9th

Loi was never down, let alone stopped, and, as good a puncher as Williams was, i don't see him being the first to do the trick. Loi and a good enough boxer to avoid most of Ike's heavy artillery, and given the trouble that Williams sometimes had in dealing with well-schooled pressure fighters (Montgomery, Angott), I see Loi giving him similar problems.

    Loi, by surprisingly wide UD.

I've never seen footage of Loi, will wait on the footage uploaded to youtube (hint, hint ;-) ) to make a more educated call. By all accounts of Loi though, this is a tough one.

Thanks for the video SS!! Loi is a great fighter in his own right. I was leaning torward Ike and I'm staying that way. I think this could be razor close with Loi trying to work his way inside. I just think that Ike would rack up enough rounds with his jab to win the fight.

    winner: Ike Williams UD

Thanks for posting the vid SS. I think Williams would win a decision he seemed to have the better jab and power plus he was very accurate. Williams via close UD.

Williams by U dec in a close fight.More accurate puncher and much the harder hitter, though he doesnt drop Loi.

I see this fight being very close, and neither fighter really being hurt or dominating any part of the fight. Loi will be looking for openings and then lunging at Ike, trying to get on the inside and work away. Ike will be shooting out jabs and cautiously stalking, looking to find Loi on the way in with something hard, but never hitting him clean enough to really do much damage.

I like Williams to take a close decision, but I can envisage a thoroughly unsatisfying bout where there is no 'real' winner.

    Williams 8-7.

Tough fight to chose but honestly have to go with Ike.

Far better techniquely in every department except in close. But Ike with those heavy hands would win by decision.

    10 -5 Ike

Reason is Ike would box him and would be to slick. But if Loi could find a way to get inside it might be close.
