1ST Round KO and all time greats??

    Are there any all time greats who have suffered 1 Round KO's ?? I know that Lewis has a few early KO's against him but he seems to have still made a great run as a great heavyweight?? curious what people think..especially when i see that on ESB when someone gets kayoed early a lot of posters say they have glass jaws immediately....

    I don't know about 1st round, but most of the ATGs were KO'd at one point or another. They fought a lot, and fought a lot of great fighters. **** happens .

    Terry Noris comes to my mind...He got koed badly in his career but still became one of the greats...

    I don't know if he's considered one of the all time greats in the HW div. but Sonny Liston got KO'd in the first by Ali. He had a pretty good record.

    I wasn't really sure if Liston was. I knew he was a great champ but an ATG? After being KO'D by Clay in the first round, he didn't do much after that until he retired.

    My bad. Liston didn't retire. He died before getting another fight.

    Louis KO1 Schmeling (though Max was pretty long in the tooth and Joe was, y'know, pretty good)

    Schmeling lost a few early fights including a tko2 to a pretty young Larry Gains (a pretty good fighter)

    Jack Johnson lost an early ko to an experienced Choynski

    Liston fought for about 5 years after the Ali fights, then died.
