Today in sparring I took two body shots one after the other that took my air and lungs away, and had to take a knee as I couldn't stand. I've never had to take a knee or been knocked out before and I am not sure how to take this. Thought by body was invincible, but the gyms 104kg former pro showed me otherwise.Should this affect my confidence? Because I think it has.

suck it up and get on with it buddy

You have to accept that you might get hurt, if will keep you focused. Everyone gets hurt sparring I can't count how many times I have been kicked to the face, eaten a hook or kneed somewhere painful, taking a knee shouldn't affect your confidence, If you ever take a knee to the solar plexis, you wont be taking a knee you will be taking a crumpled mess on the floor.

be thankful your healthy and able to fight champ!

No. In fact it's looks like it will do you wonders if you truly thought your body was invincible. Guys like LaMotta, Hagler, Ali, they all got put on the canvas and they all had great chins and punch resistance. It's about how you deal with it.

    It happens.

But if it happens almost everytime I'd find another gym.

Since you have no experienced this it should teach you to keep your elbows in tight, also bend your knees a little bit more and those body shots will not come as easy for the other guy.

Now I have a question after experiencing a true body shot like that, How do you view DLHs loss to Hopkins, were you able to roll around and scream in pain while banging your fist on the canvas?:think

Of course not, that kind of pain doesnt allow you to.

I am positive everyone gets dropped with body shots in sparring early on. Happend to me haha never got dropped by hits to the face, had to take a knee a couple times from body shots though. You'll get through them I toughened my abs up, got used to getting hit a bit more worked on defense and it hasn't happened in a while.
