There are only 2 days until the fight between Miguel Berchelt and Oscar Valdez. It should be an amazing war. But, the Members in the General Forum are neither breaking this fight down, nor making predictions. Apparently, they would rather drone on again with the same old idiotic arguments about fights that will never happen. Postulating how GGG would fare against people 4 weight classes heavier, and why Floyd Mayweather is "TBE". It is as embarrassing as it is frustrating. The General forum is just about fanboys. Almost no knowledgeable boxing observers here whatsoever. For the record, I think Berchelt-Valdez is about a 50/50 fight. I lean towards Berchelt wearing Valdez out in 9-10 rounds. But, if Valdez catches him, anything could happen. Berchelt has been stopped in the past once by a lesser puncher than Oscar. (Although, that was a long time ago, and, Berchelt has clearly improved)
You do have a point in regards to the lack of fanfare on this fight. However Berchelt should be the clear favorite in this fight. Valdez has looked vulnerable since moving up to 130 pounds, got dropped against Lopez and looked subpar against Velez. In fact he hasn't had a good performance since he beat Rueda back in 2016.
i think the fight is 80/20 in favor of berchelt. he is a lot bigger and valdez only knows how to fight inside, even if he manages to nullify berchelt size advantage i believe that berchelt still beats him down in an eventual brawl. valdez looked terrible against velez also and hasnt looked good at all since he moved up in weight. i expect a berchelt ko/tko inside 6.
Part of the problem is that so many fights are getting cancelled, and very late too. I was excited for Smith last weekend, but no go. So hopefully it happens. If we get to Saturday morning and it hasn't been cancelled, I'll be eager to think about it more.
I am kinda hoping that Valdez has done a 180 and now suddenly he can box. Otherwise... this will be an absolute massacre.
I'm looking for a big KO from Berchelt. I cant wait for this. He is easily one of my favorite active fighters of the last 10 yrs
I'm stoked and hoping we're gonna be treated to an absolute war. Better not ****ing get cancelled due to a positive COVID test.
I'm getting a little bit psyched for this fight because I'm jonesing for an epic war which seems like could happen. Failing that we get Berchelt giving a boxing lesson. Either way worth watching although I'm hoping for the war. How about the rest of the card? Any good matches in there?
Berchelt by KO or TKO around 6th or 7th round. This will be a firefight with a big BOOM to tie it up nicely by Berchelt.
Valdez can win this if he fights smart, if he let's his machismo take over he's going to get stopped.
