If Fury sparks AJ in 1 round, who is buying the rematch?

They don't actually pull numbers out their butt. They base it off 1 fight, rematch clauses in place. Lower split for the loser. financial projections for Fury and AJ are easily calculated, a fight should be expected to generate EASILY in excess of £50m which is where their guaranteed purses come from. The TV networks is where the competition is but this is pretty much already solidified.

The hard /interesting part in my mind is between Fury and AJ to decide who is the "A-side".

Is it AJ Vs Fury or Fury Vs AJ? Who will put their ego aside. Or will they split the "a-side benefits"?

Ultimately someone will forego the "a-side" benefit (walk out last, name first) for a financial benefit.

 

Hope we get good, fair fights out of this.

 

Sandy Saddler beat up Willie Pep and KO'd him in their first fight. They returned for another 4 fights.
Joe Frazier knocked Ali down, dominated a 15 round fight, and they fought twice more.
Manny Pac knocked JMM down three times, won a decision, and they fought 4 more times.

Etc.

 

Don't forget that Wilder was the one who turned down a TWO fight deal with DAZN worth $120,000,000 because there were too many zeroes in the contract.

This is a little trick that tabloids use.

They use the expected REVENUE of a fight and then imply that the 2 fighters will get that.

Revenue is tickets, Site fees, merchandise, PPV etc.

Out of that, the promoters get paid, all the other fighters on the card get paid, the security etc etc.

And of course, the main attractions get a massive chunk.

I wouldn't be shocked if both fighters are looking at a 9 figure annual income next year.

Hearn lost respect from me when he had the AJ fight in Saudi Arabia. Horrendous human rights record. Spouted some "I don't get involved in politics" nonsense whilst indirectly endorsing all the crap that goes on in that part of the world by holding a fight there.
