the first gym is run by an ex boxer. he does alot of technique work, and im quite impressed with his knowlwedge. because its a new gym, theres no good boxers training there, thus no quality sparring for me. he does amatuer and pro fights the 2nd gym, imo is a notch below in technical work but still decent. they big on fitness too. and are very organised- they travel around for quality sparring. which gym would you choose? i know its not easy to pick without actually experiencing the whole thing, but based on the above points, would you go to gym 1 or 2? thanks
I would go with gym 1 for the quality of trainer However that travelling sparring does sound brilliant
I would pick based on your personal situation.. if you are fit and strong i'd go for the first one.. Organise sparring sessions with other gyms, its not that hard and very useful.
Gym 1 sounds like you would get a lot more personal attention. I'd try out both gyms but from what you're saying, gym 1.
I'd train at the first to learn and put in a few days a month at the other to get on their sparring circuit. Best of both worlds. If there is a money issue, the guy at the first gym may let you train new fighters in the basics and let you work out for free in return. The first gym may be a good opportunity for you to learn some coaching and help build the place up, get it organized and put together a traveling sparring team.
number one gym ,,think of what benefits you now & thats quality time with the ex pro ,,get plenty of minutes on the pads it doesn't take long for a gym to get established if it any good ,,with in a year it will be busy & you will still be one of the first he will pick for the pad work ,,,also a busy gym will mean other gyms will come to you to sparr,,& you will be ready
