2 judges didn't give Kovalev a round after the 6th

They also had Chilemba close with Gvodzyk. Bellew from the studio claimed Chilemba was getting ready to take over the fight in the second half. LOL

I wish Donald Trump was still involved in boxing. There wouldn't be blatant, criminal, corruption if Trump was hosting this event I can tell you that much.

 

See, the worst part about this, is it overshadows one hell of a fight.
Wards win becomes questionable and Kovalev appears robbed.

Neither fighter deserved to lose with that performance. Personally, I had Kovalev up by 1 and could have seen a draw.
However, a definitive win like that of the judges is complete and utter bull****. And it annoys me for this sport we love.

It happens FAR too often. When do you see this **** happen if UFC? If a second class sport like UFC can keep politics to the side, why can't boxing?! Money is why.

This was a blatent robbery tonight and that wasn't the main event. It was Perez vs Hooker. That was disgusting.
Those scorers should have their licenses removed, fined and banned from the sport. This is peoples careers and the support for their families.

The same thing happened with the main event, but to a much lesser extent. It wasn't a robbery, but more of a controversially poor decision. How could you possibly have Kovalev losing the whole last half of the fight? That is ridiculous.

There are a number of die hard Ward fanboys on here who also scored rounds for Kovalev ffs.

On another note, i'm unsure why Kovalev stopped firing off the jab in the middle rounds, as he was finding Ward with ease. If he kept it pumping, Ward have had struggled much more in the last 6. On the flipside, Ward did incredibly well to fight down from the 1st, 2nd, and even the 3rd round when he was still buzzed.

I don't always agree with Max Kellerman, but he was dead on the money tonight. The judges were looking for rounds to give Ward. Kovalev had to prove without a doubt that he won the rounds. Any swing rounds went straight to Ward, which is disgusting.

A great night of fighting, a poor night for boxing.

The worst part is, the racist POS on this board and around the world will now promote this fight as if Ward DOMINATED Kovalev and visa versa. If it was a draw like it could/should have been, they wouldn't have had anything to say.

Will have to watch it again. Certainly the crowd can sway how we score a round, but commentators can also sway how we score a round as well. Turning of the sound off though does take some of the natural ebb and flow out of a round. A crowd reaction can certainly influence how we score a close round, but that's usually tied to body language and fighter's balance and how they react to a punch. It really depends how organically you score a round. One thing to keep in mind is that after the fight much of the crowd was seemingly booing the decision, so that suggests that the crowd may have been split and just not reacting to phantom Ward punches out of sheer bias. I will certainly go back and rewatch that round though. All 3 judges did have Ward winning that round, the crowd going nuts may have swayed them but Ward must have been doing something pretty spectacular to get the crowd to go nuts like that.
