^^^ any advicce on what to eat/drink during this time i want to make a full recovery an yet not put on too much weight to minimise slouchiness when i get back to training
Eat a lot of protein to help with the healing, I would suggest taking walks for now until you heal to keep your metabolism going
What is the injury? Can you do any sort of phyiscal activity? If you eat the same amount you were eating when you were training hard, you will put on weight. You'd be taking in the same amount of calories, but burning substancially less. It's only two months, as long as your diet isn't complete shite and you are laying in bed all day, you're not going to baloon up a tonne of weight.
When I was out running a light 3 mile today I pushed through some knee pain after like 2 miles and did the last mile with slight pain. Now it's ****ed, I can't extend my leg without it seriously hurting. I hope to **** its not something serious. :|
eat clean, train around it. There is a 30% carryover to your other side when injured, so one armed pressups would help you maintain some. I know you can't run right? You can work the bag with the other hand a lot, I know guys that do that. white rice is one of the worse carbs you can have from real food (bar chocolates, biscuits etc), it is as MASSIVE sugar spike.
i was doing this a lot and my jab got a lot sharper over a week! b4 i struggled to double jab but know i can throw a triple jab with ease and with a nice 'pop' to the bag but my coach and dad asked me to stop cos sometimes i got the sudden urge to throw a right hand ( and they could see it in my eyes) plus if i rest for the 2 months i get new boots :yep
I was out earlier this year for the same time (soft tissue and ligament damage in my shoulder, elbow and wrist). I actually dropped 5kg during this period doing the following: - trainer focused on core and legs. - I walked everywhere! - I started using MyFitnessPal as it was a great way for me to stay conscious of my calorie intake. The risk with injury is you maintain the same diet as you had with high intensity training, this website/iPhone App helped in a big way for me to avoid this scenario. I hope this helps, don't let the injury consume you........ Vent on message boards and blogs, it's a good outlet!
A broken hand won't keep you from jogging, so that is something you can do for exercise. You can also do crunches, leg raises, scissors for ab work. I have a cholesterol issue and the Dr. advised me to give up white, as in white bread, white rice, regular potatoes, pasta etc. I now eat brown rices and love them for their nuttier flavor. I've always eaten whole wheat bread, but giving up regular potatoes and regular pasta was not nice. I do eat yams and whole wheat pasta, but it's not the same.
Protein on it’s own will use 50% of the protein for energy. Eat lots of chicken and brown rice and whey protein.
Jogging is well known to jar the body, even to a small degree, in such a manner to slow down the healing process of broken bones. It is not reccommended.
