1 - i havnt done sit ups in like 2 years.... lately i have started twisting tyson like into my hooks, and was wondering, if i started doing a good amount of sit ups, building those core muscles, would it not be a given that my punching power increases a bit? due to the extra torque, speed, power ill be able to put behind it? or no?

2 - I have never in my life worked my legs... in gym class i always dogged it for benching or curls, i notice tyson, trinidad, ect, all have huge legs.... if i start doing squats and cleans.... would it not then be a given that my power will increase a little?

between these two things, say about two or three months.... i find it hard to believe that my punches wont be more powerful.

    your thoughts?

Squats I think might help a bit, strong legs and lower body are important for punching power because that's where a punch starts and it helps you drive into it. Having a strong core would help for that as well, being able to get a big more when you turn your body into a punch.

    "...say two or three months...."

Say two or three years and say it very loudly. Anybody who thinks they can reach their potential after a few months is seriously deluded.

speed * strength = power doing core and leg excercises especially legs is vital and the way to acheive the explosiveness you need make sure you do everything fast

Ofcourse... the stronger you are, the more powerful your punches will be as long as form is right. Focus on plyometric exercises to maximize power and speed gains.

Squats/leg work are essential. Essential. No power in your legs is only using your capabilities in boxing 40%.

Squats and deadlifts will sort your legs out. If you're after strength, do 5 sets of 5 reps with squats (if you get the weight just right, you'll be struggling to finish the 5th set).

Are you also doing training down at TCB now, or whatnot? Sounds like you're getting back into it.

:patsch he didn't ever say his full potential so try quoting the hole sentence dickweed...

and yes in two to three months you will notice a big improvment.itll take a long time to get very good but you will see an improvment.
