    Hey guys, as above!

    1) Do you keep your fists clenched at all times even when in the guard and out of range? Or do you keep them relaxed and only clench on the point of impact.

    2) Do you throw your lead hooks with your palms facing towards yourself or downwards? It feels natural for me to throw it downwards when shadowboxing, but the complete opposite when I'm gloved up and on the bag, mitts or sparring!

    thanks!

    1) No. Loose when in the guard, loose when throwing until the point of impact.
    Clenched hands are slow hands.

    2) Depends on the range. Palm towards me I get better range and feels a little nicer on my wrist, especially on the pads. Palm down feels a little tighter and I can dig it in behind the ear at close range.

    1) Same as what is said above.

    2) With a normal hook i throw with palm facing down as it feels like i get more speed and power. Lately i've been working on a 45degree hook and it feels better facing towards me.

Peter Harrison made me laugh when he said that 'keeping your fist loose till impact is bull****, your no telling me your that quick!'
And hes right, you got to keep your hand in a fist at least as you throw it. Maybe not fully clenched but still a solid fist.

    1. Yes. Why? Because closing your fists is a tell. You alternate just enough not to wear your hands out. The more you clench them the better. Gives a consistent look.

    2. Towards me or a 45 degree angle down because it is usually stoping forward motion so needs to be short so that my hand is close for defense.
