Ok when are you gonna realise that we englishman dont hate Scottish fighters in much the same way we don't hate fighters from lapland? As far as I'm concerned he's british as well so I'll support him. I might support an englishman over him or I might not as there are more intangibles than just the Scots/English divide.

Since I'm the only Scotsman on here who went to Vegas for the fight I'm guessing this comment is meant for me?

    I hope to **** it's not Dunky:verysad

For ****s sake...Hatton has known Foster for ages, he is mates with him and yes they are fellow Mancs. So Hatton supporting Steve is being "anti Scottish"...:nut:patsch:roll:

And my mate just came back from Vegas and had pics of him and Hatton and Ricky was sat next table along and when my mate got introduced to him...first thing Hatton did? Apologised for letting everyone down. Yeah he is such a fake ****.

Every **** can **** off who still yaps on here about what a dick he is deep down when they have never met him or even got a mate who has met him in their ****ing life.

Ive not read through the whole thread, but to say hatton hates scotts because of his supporting foster jnr aty ringside s plain ignorance. It suggests Ricky is rascist for starters, which is ludicrous. Foster is a salford lad who has previously trained with Hatton, he is also a year younger than hatton so will have moved through the manchester Amateur gyms with him. Whilst Im sure ricky has an affiliation with Arthur I'd imagine he has a stronger longlasting friendship with Steve.
As for Arthur, he was caught all night long by essentially the same punches as he was some 4 (is it?) years ago by michael Gomez! We all said Alex had learnt from his "Gomez" but has he? Had Foster been able to bang a little harder Alex may have wilted early doors. Another worrying factor was his constant moaning and whinging to the ref, and more importantly his inability to accept the fact he's down and hurt. Following the knockdown he once again (as he did in the gomez fight) tried to continuously indicate "im okay im okay" to his corner, a better finisher would have had him out in the 11th as he was unsteady throughout.
It'll be interesting to see who Mr Warren gets for him next, although I suspect when the inevitable step up to World Class does happen mr Arthur (barring some drastic changes) will be KO'd.

The reason the crowd was small is cause AA isnt really liked in Scotland. I for 1 wouldnt pay to go watch AA but if there was a good enogh undercard id go but when has a FW promotion ever got a decent undercard? every fight was a total mismatch add that in with it how close it had been to xmas and theres were you get your small crowd. also on a personal note i had my weekend of boxing fun last weekend so was under orders to take the better half out on sat!

There was alot of support from the west of Scotland to cheer on Simpson and Burns though considering the bouts they had. If they could maybe get Simpsons euro fight with burns and limond on the undercard would be a sellout no problem.

Good to know some of you scots still apprecite me mate:good

In all seriousness though, dont let me bring you down my good man! Im a bitter, twisted **** of a poster & I make no apologies for it:deal
Just dis a scottish fighter & the red mist comes down with me, & it turns into a free for all. I make no aplologies for it, its just the way I am. Honest as ****. I see us jocks respect the englanders, but our boys get **** all respect in return. & ****s like me are just supposed to sit back quietly & say **** all. As us scots would say, aye right!
I appreciate the backup, its a good gesture. However Vic mate, yer best leaving me to rant alone, cos siding with me means everyone hating you!
I know some pretend to like me here, but Im not stupid. I know im the board villain:D All that saddens me is that my opinion is classed as Scotlands opinion here. That always saddens me here, that I make life harder for them.
However, the ****ers will just have to live with it!

Dunky, I think part of the problem is that Scottish boxing really isn't in that good of a state at the moment and any honest appraisal can just come across as being negative if its not worded carefully.

Its not too bad, we have two outstanding prospects in Craig McEwan & Kenny Anderson, Arthur despite a shaky last performance is on the brink of a superfight, of course compared to England we cant compete as England are a massive country compared to us. you outnumber us scots 10 to one!(& it certainly feels like it here on ESB sometimes;) )

As for your welsh brothers, they have Calzaghe. He IS welsh boxing. They are lucky to have him, but hes english really. So compared to english boxing, scottish boxing doesnt compare. However, it never will, for aforementioned reasons. 52 million has a better chance than 5 million of being the big shots of 'british' boxing.

Its all about perspective Gaz my good man:deal

The Welsh have JC, Enzo Mac and MAYBE the likes of Pryce for minor world titles. They're doing very well for a small country, I just think if you had a genuine world class boxer in Scotland then the English on here would get behind him..I know I would. But until then a Manc is always going to support a Manc against a Scot, it doesn't mean they hate you though...;O)

Think Ireland is doing ok, 4 mil people, we have Duddy and Lee.
    Dunne was European Champ....

There is interest here which is great, thats the main thing..

At light middle James Moore may do ok in the USA!

    Matt Macklin is part Irish

We also have average fighters like Magee, McBride , Gomez and the Hylands

Don't worry Dunky, i'm with you on almost everything you say.

By the way, you hear what Oscar De La Hoya said about McEwan, he was delighted with his performnace in Vegas and is going to move him along pretty quickly, maybe headlining a bout. Nice. The guy was my cousins best mate over in broomhouse in here in Edinburgh three years ago, and he's now living out of Cali, crazy.

I thouight he pissed about with his hands low a bit too much during his Vegas bout, although admitedly that was after he realised the guy he was fighting was about as much use as a one legged man in an arse kicking contest. First couple of rounds he looked superb though.

Yeah burns has ben really busy lets hope its leading to something rather than filling up gaps in undercards with mismatches.

With John i know he only had 2 weeks prep and only foundout today was also fighting at 131lbs when john is more at home at 125-126 IMO. i also think he found it a little hard to motivate himself it not being a title fight yiou have to remember that was johns 1st non-title fight in over 2 and a half years. though no excuses i think everyone expected a better performance but main thing is he got the W on his record and gives him a fw rounds before he ghets his euro shot if morrison can pull it off.

do you think morrison will be able to secure john a shot? was talking to someone whos worked closely with morrison lately and he doubts he will be able to get john the fight? also if he does get the fight how do you rate his chances? i hjavent seen the italian yet has a good record but very padded id imagine.
