    Yes, but be honest was it a straight right that felled John L for taking your drink?

    I don't count John L. I shouldn't have hit him, since he was in no condition to defend himself. My bad.

    As for Tunney, he went down hard and rolled off the sidewalk into the gutter. I had to go in search of a referee to count! (And Dempsey thinks he had problems?) By the time I got back with a ref, Tunney was gone. A bystander said he timed Tunney at 17 seconds before he rose from the gutter and staggered off. It's still talked about on that corner, to this day, as "Tunney's longer long count." I'm a legend on that corner. People still call me champ when I walk by.

    Southpaw is interesting. Like if you asked someone to name the greatest right hook puncher of all time you would be hard pressed to name ten Southpaws that featured or relied in the right hook to win.
    Rolando Navaratte had the best right hook I've ever seen.

    Fair play, though John should have recognized you as the man who crushed Daniel Mendoza ay "John Jackson"?

    Tunney said he was waiting for you to go to a neutral corner and that you fled out of fear!

    For me, I consider Hagler a Southpaw who can also box Orthodox. But that's me.

    Thank you to:
    @Eddie Ezzard
    @willfightforcake
    @Cobra33

    for submitting your rankings

    Submissions are still open for those who want to participate.

    @djanders this is a list of your "Greatest Southpaw Boxers" so anyone who you deem as great, go for it. This list is subjective for those being "Greatest" but that is what the survey scoring is for.

    Sammy Angott was southpaw, but not great. Just thought I'd mention it.

    Loving your style Dmex. Cracking thread, great encouragement to participate and thanks for the courtesy in acknowledging those who took the time to give it some thought.

    What about it @JohnThomas1 @Clinton @Tin_Ribs @RulesMakeItInteresting @scartissue @salsanchezfan and anyone else I regularly respond to? The thread - and the poster - deserve the wisdom of you guys.

    Waiting for @George Crowcroft to chip in too.

    Thanks!

    I don't even try to do pound for pound comparisons. I have enough problems across eras with comparing fighters, let alone trying to picture everyone from every era as 200 pounds. My old brain is confused enough. My hat's off to people who can do that! Carry on! I'll read and learn.

    Though not a southpaw, I would argue that Mike Tyson's most effective work, indeed his signature combination, came from the stance - right hook to the body, right uppercut with his right foot in advance.

    @roughdiamond - You still about? I know you don't embrace lists as much as @George Crowcroft but reckon you could slap out a rough 15 in your sleep.
