Thank you @Minotauro for the list.
A great turnout thus far and already have some great names added to the survey.

Looks like little a month until the survey is complete, I may extend it, but I am not sure.

    Keep it up everyone!

BUMP. 1 MONTH REMAINING FOR SURVEY. The more responses the better the results. Thank you to everyone who has participated thus far. I am excited to see where this goes from here, it is looking very interesting to say the least.

But yeah, keep it up, submit your picks, help present a great list of Southpaws for people to get to know. Southpaws are rare and convey a special style that is often difficult to compete against. So who are the greatest southpaw enigmas?

Also for any help I will include all the mentioned boxers thus far mentioned by those who submitted a survey in addition to me requoting another list I pulled up at the beginning in an unranked manner. Hope this helps.

Have a good weekend fight fans.

There was a Russian heavyweight in the mid 90s, Alexander Zolkin, who was a southpaw. He was 6'5" tall - back in the days before that was considered short for a heavyweight - and cagey. He had had an operation to remove his charisma - which appeared to be very successful - and he brought little to the table in terms of selling the fight. Truly the #1 all time 'Who needs him?' High(ish) risk to no reward.

Luckily for Alexander, our 'Enery saw potential in a match up and signed to fight him. Unfortunately for everyone else, the 'Enery in question was Akinwande and the fight between the two octopuses was a bore and a half. Although I think it had the distinction at the time of being the fight with the largest combined height of the two combatants, an honour it held until Nikolay Valuev fought, well, anyone.

You'd feel bad for the fans who attended the event. The card featured an expected slaughter between champion Mike Tyson and huge underdog Evander Holyfield so they'd been relying on Akinwande-Zolkin for a reasonably competitive bout before the massacre.

In point of fact, they got that in the next of the three heavyweight fights that night - Michael Moorer v Frans Botha. And so, the card also had the distinction of being the first to ever feature two southpaws in heavyweight title fights.

Not exactly a list @HDmexiqtioner but a bit of southpaw trivia to keep the thread near the top of page 1, ahead of the umpteen dream Thai match ups (did someone say dream Thai match ups? No wonder we haven't seen much of Morlocks or McVey lately) and the latest Twin Peaks offering of @cross_trainer (no offence, cross. I like your leftfield style).

Hello fight fans, it's ya boy. Sorry for being AFK for as long as I have been, just been on a tech break for a wee bit, but the boxing game continues!

Thank you to those of you who submitted your rankings for your greatest Southpaw boxers. Respect to yall. :)

The survey is still open to yall who are interested. I am very excited to be refreshed and research these great power left handers. The more participants entered, the "truer" the ranking feels in my belief.

PS: Just curious for my own sake, (since I can't really find a good source showing me so) I know Michael Moorer was the first Heavyweight Southpaw Champion, but what about the other weight divisions? Does that factor in your process?

Hello survey friends. Just figure I would give yall the update on the Survey. Things are going great. Just been getting into research once again about some of these great southpaws and I appreciate the participation that yall have contributed thus far. Should be a fun result for this survey. Also for those interested... I am EXTENDING THE SURVEY TO MARCH 5TH 2022! Just to help get more eyes on this and help ease researching.

And then, here is an update video for the channel which will have the survey results. Follow for more. Or just other random content about boxing, MMA, or random cool things that I think are interesting.

I don't think Pongsaklek Wonjongkam has been mentioned yet.

If he has, my bad, but I'll throw out the name for some highlight.

    Hagler first

    Camacho is probably second

below that you can group the whitakers, and the Calzaghes of the world. Order does not matter in that case.
