I would pick LaMotta. Hopkins hated to fight at a fast pace, and I can't see Hopkins keeping him at bay, either.

I see the fight with hopkins footwork and defense and counter punching slowing jakes workrate down.
    and losing a UD

You know? Robinson was a Natural Welterweight right.

Thats like like saying Duran was at his best at 147.

Edge LaMotta for offense, edge Hopkins for defense. Hopkins on points.

robinson was a welter when he faced lamotta. and he was in his absolute peak... he was fighting iin the middleweight class but he was a welter on the ring.. check his weight... so your example of duran is absurd here.. you said that robinson was past his best when he faced lamotta, and it is ignorant and ridiculous , period... you did start this thread saying that hopkins would destroy lamotta, you lost any credibility since that you said this crap.

I went back and checked laMotta's record and opponents and came away impressed to say the least. Robinson, Zivic, Bell, Williams, Marshall, Satterfield, Janiro and Cerdan round out a pretty impressive resume for a MW champion/contender. Now compare that to Hopkins' MW competition and you have to wonder how anyone thinks Hopkins rolls over LaMotta....let alone even wins. Maybe h2h Hopkins has what it takes to beat Jake but it's no walk in the park no matter how you look at it. LaMotta fought in a MW division that was ridiculously fertile with talent. Hopkins didn't and that has to be taken into account here before people dismiss Jake's chances.

I feel Hopkins footwork counter punching and overall game plan would get him the W vs Jake Hopkins did fight in a weaker era but he is good or better as any fighter you listed.

I will say Robinson is the GOAT

Hopkins outboxes Jake and gets a decision. Bernard would negate La Motta's agression with his countering.

robinson weighed 144 pounds when he lost against lamotta, he was even under the welter limit. of course that he was in his peak ,stupid, simply he was fighting a man who was naturally bigger and heavier, but robinson was in his peak, he was 22 years old.in the next fight with lamotta he weighed 145 pounds, he was under of the welter limit again and he did beat lamotta.

Hopkins had trouble with speedy fighters. Lamotta to me is a bit over rated. He did not hit that hard, and had just solid skills. Toughness was Jake's forte, but when matched vs a skilled counter puncher like Hopkins, I think he losses on points.
