The unbeaten Mugabi at Caesars Palace was the middleweight equivalent of Tokyo Douglas. You need to be special and Félix was only really special at welter/super welter.

He'd beat 1981 Antuofermo, William Caveman Lee, and Wilford Scypion.

    The others, I doubt it.

Tito did Knockout Hasine Cherifi in 3 rounds after losing to Hopkins. He had been a WBC Middleweight Champion briefly. Trinidad still had good power at Middle. The handwrap thing was alot of smoke. Tito`s problem against Hopkins was that he couldnt land anything clean. He was getting picked apart. If he was nailing BHOP clean then I would say maybe there`s something to it.

I'm not so sure about the Scypion & Lee outcomes, to be honest. Hardly convinced he gets by Fully Obel even.

And facing all those guys means the wear and tear factor enters the picture. Lots more tough rounds against Marvin's competition than the guys he faced. And those slow start knockdowns are not a good thing against that group of fighters either. I just don't see his left hook having much success and bailing him out against those guys.

Fair enough. I just don't see it, so we'll have to agree to disagree. I remember thinking that while he was punching impressively, he was way too hittable and ate a ton of flush punches. Could he beat Tito? Sure, probably. I just don't agree that his loss to Hagler--or any of his wins--makes him a sure thing to beat Trinidad.

I definitely believe he would LOSE to Obelmejias.
That man was HUGE, and pretty good fighter.

So was Scypion. Problem was having to fight a prime Hagler.

And Don Lee is going to come out winging and it's a gunfight. Trinidad has the faster hands but he sure did not get out of the gate quick.
