    Hagler wins a close UD....

I don't see Hagler brutally KOING Hopkins like he did Hearns, BECAUSE Hopkins had a way better chin, better legs, and was physically superior to Hearns...

Hops would frustrate Hagler like Duran did in 1983, but like the Duran fight, Hagler would come on late to win....

Fair fight? Hagler wins either by body punch KO or a TKO caused by accumulation of body punches.

If d corpse of Roid Jones deserved it against a fully bulked Hopkins, den d still dangerous Hagler of 1985 cud du it 2 a lean Hopkins, especially since d chances of achieving it over d course of 15 r far better.

    ^^^^

    You've lost your damn mind.

There's 100% chance of this fight going the distance. A stoppage either way is out of the question. We're talking about two of the truly great chins in history here.

As for who wins, I'd take Hagler more times than not, assuming we're talking about a prime Hagler, and not the faded one that fought Leonard.

I think the fight would be razor close going into the later rounds, and at that point Hagler kicks it into a higher gear and gets the better of Hopkins late.

Hagler had better power than Hopkins, and a better chin. Those two factors would be significant because Hagler could land the more telling shots, and in exchanges I feel he'd get the better of B-Hop.

Hagler by close, yet decision. B-Hop of course would cry robbery, and there'd likely be a rematch.

yes I feel Hagler's pressure will have him sqeak out a decision 7-5, 8-4 type of fight

Boxing will do no good in this case. the difference between Hagler & trinidad is as infinite as east is from west

Hagler in three but without the drama of the Hearns fight

Hopkins can't be stopped. Defensively and chin wise its not going to happen.

only chance is cuts - and Bernard won't get hit that often
or body shots - and Bernard isn't getting hit that often

Hagler's work ethic would be too much for B-Hop.

    :lol::lol::lol:

This is what happens when worship for past greats clouds the ability to sensibly evaluate more recent ones. A man who went 20 years without being knocked down and who's never been stopped is going to be blasted out in less than 3?? Because Hagler did it to Hearns and Hamsho? :patsch

    Nobody is getting stopped here.

Hagler also fought most guys in a methodical boxing style, breaking them down slowly, he turned into a bull against Hearns and obviously proved he could brawl as well as box, but what is it with people always assuming in mythical matchups that he'll be applying pressure or going to war? Are we back on the general forum?

No one's "work ethic" is too much for Hopkins, who is a known gym rat and health nut. You could argue that Hopkins was even more disciplined as Hagler still enjoyed his alcohol between camps, well before the Leonard. Not that it was known to be an issue as he did it in moderation, but Hopkins apparently doesn't even do that. The story goes, Hopkins went to a restaurant where his dinner was marinated in wine sauce, and he specifically requested no wine sauce because he wanted no alcohol in his body.

Hagler's power may give him the edge to win, maybe his jab, there's factors at play in this fight (which I think is a 50/50) that could make you lean towards Hagler, but certainly not an edge in "work ethic"
