This fight is one I see Calzaghe losing. His power was there still, but faded from what it once was. His boxing abilities had improved from his younger days, but were lesser than they were a few years later. I don't see Calzaghe having the power and speed of his youth to win that way, nor the skills and cunningness of his career twilight with which to outbox Calzaghe. I see Jones outboxing, frustrating then TKOing Calzaghe, maybe with Enzo throwing in the towel. I don't give the prime Calzaghe who way a hybrid of skill and physical talent having that great of a chance against a young Jones. Styles make fight and at that point in his career Calzaghe lacked the style to beat a pre-prime Jones. Jones all the way here.
I wish that would be the result tonight. As much as I would hate Calzaghe to lose his perfect record, I would love to see Jones give a nice display of power, speed and determination.
I'm glad C_H_J has started making these threads again, as he has brought his excrement of a brain to the attention of a new group of noobs, hence enhancing his reputation as one of the biggest morons on this forum. The Jones that UD'd Hopkins in 1993 @ 160 jumps up to beat any 168 version of Calzaghe by cavernous UD.
How is prime-Calzaghe going to last the distance with a young Jones? He was prone to being reckless and at that stage in his career was being punished by mediocre world class fighters.
Why can't we just have one thread about tonight fight and leave the others till at least this fight as finished. Can't we just focus on the fighters are now rather than what they were.
PacFan84 u r a dick ok. screw you for not exepting a true great u arse wipe. I bet Rick Hatton as much as he was beaten up by Mayweather could beat Pacman when he is on form.
I do not think Jones would KO any version of Calzaghe. It is a very fair comment to say he might beat him just like it is to say Hopkins might beat him but all of that is 50 50. Jones is not better than a prime Hopkins.
Mate, we use boxing knowledge not insults to debate here. You are a Calzaghe fan so there is a good chance you have the knowledge.
atsch Reverse psychology? Or changing tack to try and desperately claw back a semblance of credibility? Or just a plain fool? Who knows, or really cares???
Whatever you say. You are just totally disregarding Calzaghe and bringing up some of his bad performances and forgetting Roy Jones' bad performances. I have been reading all your shite the last week about this being a really close fight and that is bull **** Calzaghe will destroy Jones and what makes it even more anoying is that everyone on here knows that. Jones was a really great fighter in his day no way was he over rated but you have suddenly become a Roy Jones fan out of no where because he is fighting Calzaghe.
