Forrest Beats him Down and More then likely ko's him but lesser fighter have lasted the distance with the Viper. i think a better fight would be Forrest Vs Tito
forrest by decision, hurting cotto along the way. i would put money on cotto hurting vernon somewhere in there too, though. great fight.
A little one sided IMO.... Forrest has all the tools to not only dictate the fight, where its fought and how its fought, he probably IMO finishes cotto before the final bell. Cotto would find it nearly impossible to get near Forrest IMO, and he doesnt quite have the size, durability and strength to really make Forrest feel the pressure he hates to feel. I think Forrest dissects him from the outside for a few rounds, until he starts finding a home with that viper'ish right hand as cotto slows down and stops Cotto around the 8th or 9th. I really feel hes all wrong for m'man Cotto. But id be rooting for Cotto every minute of the way!
REspectfully disagree on that one.... mismatch 4 Forrest, Tito would've probably obliterated Forrest. The way he disposed of a prime/close-to-prime Mayorga, not like Mosley's 12th rd of a far from prime Mayorga..... then again, of course, styles make fights, AND as always too many intangibles... on the end, I guess we'll never know... would've probably been a good scrap!!
That Forrest Jab would Wreck Cotto.... and the right upper cut....it would be brutal. And im a big Cotto fan.
True but to Forrests credit... he fought a Mayorga that was fighting to seriously MAKE IT, and change his life. He was lean, mean, hungry.... a 147lb monster. Tito fought a mayorga in a weightclass mayorga should have never even been at, fighting a **** case, on the run in spurts, changing training camps, failed to even make weight in his fight prior. And it showed in that one of Mayorgas most dangerous attributes, his stamina, was for one of the first times a serious weakness as he was out of breath in the middle rounds in his first fight at middle. Mayorga was still a beast.... but not quite the same one that Forrest fought. That being said however i understand too that Tito was coming off a layoff and wasnt at his sharpest eather so maybe it evens out. :think Tito vs Forrest is def an intreaguing fight the more i think about it, i can see solid cases for each guy depending on what im looking at when im 'seeing' it.... Am i going to favor Forrests outside skills, boxing ability, combo of speed/power and footwork? Or do i think Forrest will wilt in the face of Titos pressure, power and activity. Hmmmm.... This fight, like many, would come down to (IMO) when they fought and what weight class. Prime for prime at 147? damn.... all i can say is what a fight. I think both have the tools to beat the other, however, me personally, just imo, am leaning a bit towards Forrest to be able to keep that space he wants between them throughout, using his range and footwork to build an early lead.... staying cautious enough and showing tito respect and keeping tito chasing, while tito starts to put in work and really come on down the last half, really giving chase, getting used to forrests timing, speed, and range, and really have forrest backpeddling and feeling the heat in the last 5 rounds or so. Not quite sure if he can finish forrest, or do enough to win.... interesting fight :think:think:think:think:think
Why even continue this? Viper KO10. He has far more power than Manny and way more range. Those uppercuts and right hands from Forrest would f**k his night up a lot faster.
