Lol yeah but you are also stupid. Jones Jr wasn't a better heavyweight than Holyfield or Moorer. Neither could stay away from Foreman they both could take a heavyweight punch better than Jones. Jones could run all he wanted then he would lose a decision. But most likely Foreman would still win by early KO.
I'll take foreman by ko. At some point foreman is bound to land something of consequence and then it is just a matter of whether or not Jones can take it. Even if you view Jones chin issues as a side effect of moving back down to light heavy it is hard to imagine him taking a heavyweight punch.
I would like to think that Jones could just run circles around George and win an easy decision, and in truth he could certainly do that ( in theory. ) But I just can't imagine him dancing around Foreman for 10 or 12 rounds and never getting tagged. If he does its almost assuredly over.
jones kenw he could beat a current day HW champ, but he probably wouldnt consider foreman even when he was old. Foreman was the stuff that Jones grew up with, he is a boxer who would truely terrify Roy.
If Jones so much as catches a light breeze from one of Foremans punches.... He's going down for the count. Jones would have to fight the perfect fight for 12 rounds and that's not happening. Foreman KO in 7.
George Foreman would probably half kill him with a glancing right hand to the body. He'd try not to put too much power on it. I don't think Foreman would risk aiming for Roy's jaw, that would be instant death for the little man.
Roy Jones has said more than once that he had no desire to fight some of the bigger-harder punching heavyweights. He said it just wasn't worth the risk.
And he was quite right. He'd have to fight the perfect fight every time to win, and God forbid somebody like Tua caught him with something big.
Believe Jones would enjoy a few rounds of success actually. If he can be mobile, shoots out the jab, don't even attempt to stand in front and give George any shots clean on. But off course even old George is always coming at him so he's burning a lot of energy just attempting that. Old George s jabs will eventually start getting through. Only a matter of time before Roy crumbles
It would have been possible, but not probable. I'd definitely have given Roy A CHANCE though. The difference in speed would have been immense.
At some stage Roy would be forced to engage with George like Holyfield and Moorer were. Would be lights out for Roy when he did. Similar to Louis vs Conn . However if Roy ran the whole night he could snatch a points win.
Foreman would keep stalking and was still pretty good at cutting off the ring. Morrison was able to use movement and outbox Foreman, but Morrison was a 230 lb guy with big power, so it's easier for him to gain Foreman's respect. Jones might have early success, but eventually Foreman's jabs and some occasional wide body shots would take its toll and he'd slow Roy down and get him outta there. Especially if we are talking 1990-91 Foreman. There's a difference between 1990-91 Foreman and the Foreman of the mid and late 90s.
