2007 Ibragimov v.s 2001 Rahman

I would tentatively go with Rahman, because I fancy his A game was a bit better.

 

Rahman all the way, he would have kept Ibragimov at bay with that freakish reach he had, and would have overwhelmed him with his superior power, strength, and of course size and athleticism..

P.S even thou Rahman KO,"d the decades best Heavyweight in Lewis, some posters on here will pick Ibragimov "just because" he lost every round against Klitchko, Mark my words:

 

Ibragimov was down once should have been twice to Ray Austin of all people

Sure Austin had some good nights like his Stiverne fight before getting nailed by a right and stopping stopping Golota and Williamson I think he is a fighter who turns it up sometimes or due to his dimensions can be hard to approach

Iggy beat Briggs...so what.....beat old Holyfield.....ok i guess i mean he did much better than Valuev

Iggy had fast hands and decent movement with some pop, he could be an interesting opponent....I dont rate Rahman that high but I figure he wins

 

You're judging Iggy off the worst night of his career after poorly training. Rahman wasn't the poster boy for consistency.

 

Nicely matched. This is fair.

 

I see a lot of similarities between the way old Evander and Rahman fought. Evander beat Rahman and Iggy beat Evander without issue.

I feel like Rahman was basically in prime condition for the first Maskaev fight, but Maskaev still had plenty of success in that fight by fighting technically.

I think Iggy beats Rahman and possibly tko's him late.

 

Tough fight.

Interesting fight, I like Iggy a touch more because of his awkwardness and southpaw style,and caginess. I see him catching H.R. with a few of those left crosses but could be a close fight with both men going down or a close SD either way...

I could see either man winning a decision. Probably would end up being one of those screwy draws both men found themselves in time and time again. Why not...

 

I would pick Iggy. Rhaman could not counter punch, and did not have the good defense or a reliable chin. Iggy's speed, power and southpaw attack would take him out later.

 

Yeah, it depends on Sultan I suppose.

I think if he comes out ripping combinations to the head and body, he outpoints or possibly stops Rahman.

But if he goes into his passive defensive mode and lets Rahman lead the action, we have a very close competitive fight on our hands.

 

Iggy winsit...he was too damned clever for Rahman.
