The source for these is 31st December edition of, Dave Meltzer’s, Wrestling Observer.

Normally the list he does runs from December to November, hence the inclusion of the Ortiz/Liddell.

An exception has been made and the number for Mayweather/Hatton is included in this list. The UFC’s December ’07 show will be in the 2008 list.

There's also no number for the UFC’s November show, which was headlined by Bisping Vs Evans. According to a previous Melzter report that the November show out performed the company’s exceptions.

Meltzer says of this show, with regards to this list…

    Anyway...

The fact that so many people pay that much money to watch wrastlin' is downright disturbing.

I assume these are American figures...? Wonder what the World figures look like?

Also boxing is on week in week out on free tv/satallite with ppv aswel, the UFC is just one Org which bases its whole business on ppv numbers. The difference is boxing is a global sport, while UFC is still one company. The comparison business wise is a lot more familiar to WWE than boxing.

Surely Mayweather-Hatton got more than 850,000 buys in the UK?

No Mayweather-Hatton did 850 in the USA. These numbers are USA only.

Mayweather-Hatton did 1million+ buys in UK
