I've seen Pavlik block a lot of punches. I've seen him partially block a lot of punches. Ive seen Pavlik position himself so punches that hit him don't do much damage a lot of times. But it's a rare thing to see Pavlik actually outright dodge a punch. Are you sure we're talking about the same fighter? That just isn't his style.

The way I see it Lockett and Pavlik will trade a lot of shots. But Pavlik's will do more damage as his defensive skills will take the power out of Lockett's shots. Lockett slows down and Pavlik continues his monsterous workrate and brutalizes him. ( unless the referee, doctor, or corner stop the fight early which might be a good call when fighting Pavlik. Pavlik-Miranda for example should never have gone to the 7th. Even Miranda stated in later interview that he was lucky that Pavlik hadn't more seriously hurt him. )

Good post! I too was wondering what the newbie was talking about; Pavlik-movement:think Sometimes he looks like a ****ing ninja slapping punches away with his gloves, other times he just tucks his chin and takes punches on the forehead, and he is VERY good at judging range, but he rarely slips punches. By the way, Leow compared Lockett to Zertuche, and what you described in your post is pretty much the Zertuche fight!

I can see Wlad finally getting hit after 2 years of not being touched by a glove and his chin not taking it well. Not sure I can go with Thompson to WIN but I have a feeling Wlad tastes the canvas in this one. :yep

I voted for Miranda over Abraham, but that's a 50/50 fight, so it wouldn't really be an upset. I'm thinking the next "upset" will be Zuniga over Pascal by TKO.
