Would be awesome for the Sport if that Chinese dude went pro and made noise.

Assuming he qualifies, with a good draw, Michel Hunter could very easily medal. He doesn't have as many fights as the other top guys at 201+, but he's also improving every time out because of it and he has good skills and surprising speed for a man his size. And he's still very young, too. It'll be fun watching him and Deontay Wilder in Beijing.

It would be interesting for boxing in America if he was to win. How good is he? Is he in shape? Athletic? Big puncher? I've heard of him in the past but never seen him in the ring.

He's good. He worked Timurziev when they fought in Chicago and Timurziev was worn out at the end of the match. He's in good shape, good movement and speed for a big guy. He's like 6'2 and 215 I think, his dad was a pro boxer. He's inexperienced relatively, I don't think he has more than 40 fights. Here's his fight at the world championships with Timurzievc:

A pretty decent one at that, who snorted away his career. Had wins over McCall, Qawi, Pinklon Thomas, Jimmy Thunder, Tyrell Biggs and Buster Mathis Jr (although the last one was changed to a NC because he tested positive for coke).

Commarelle, otherwise known as Povetkin's *****.

Was not he glad when Povetkin left for the pros. I think he has a very good chance now, but I did vote for Timurziev.

Interesting, have not seen this fight.

Looked like some hometown scoring involved in the first - hard to say from a youtube clip.

    He is indeed very raw.

Hunter lost that fight to Timurziev, a sick version of Timurziev.

Any present amateur fighter is the underdog against Timurziev who is almost a sure bet to win gold at the upcomming olympic tournament.
Timurziev's weak spot is his health.

Bulgaria's heavy Palev is a force to be reckon with, too.
Ukraine's hope Glatzkov can probably make some noise ,too.

Yes, and Timurziev has some new illness every other month. He's not invincible, not at all. He's no Aleksandr Povetkin.

Yeah, hopefully one of the things they've worked on since the Worlds is his hand placement and playing the computer system. He had only been in Colorado Springs training with the team and the coaches for a month at that point, so hopefully since then they've worked on a lot, and it sounds like he continues to improve each time out there.

He beat Povetkin at the amateurs, kolya! Anyway! I got your point and I tend to agree with you.Nevertheless, who really has a chance to beat a healthy Timurziev at the olmypic tournament?

His biggest rival is probably Roberto Camerelle who has lost most of his encounter with Timurziev.
I cant even remember whether he has ever won a single fight with Timurziev or not.Must look it up!

Every present heavy weight amateur must be called the underdog in a fight against Timurziev, dont you agree with me,Kolya?

As for Timurziev I very much hope that he will change his first name as soon as he turns pro.Islam is not my favourite name.Wont really be that thrilled to read that Islam is conquering the world and wiping the floor with his infidel opponents.:D

If the Chinese dude can stay on his feet for all his fights, he will be the gold medal winner by UD. I expect China to win gold in every event that involves a judge, and at least in half that don't via all kinds of strange disqualifications.
