2009: Best Boxing Year Since _______?

i thought 07 was a fantastic year. This year was very good but ill also remember it for the year of postponements and cancelled fights.

 

The year 2007 will be looked at as one of those classic years in boxing.

 

I think boxing has really stepped it up in the past 3 years as far as making fights people want to see.

 

Of course, the freakish deaths in boxing during '09, especially the three all in one month, will make it a hard year to forget.

 

Do you have lists from the past couple of years to compare to? Or any particular year in the past?

 

Definitely a great year in terms of the fights that were made! But also frustrating because of the canceled/postponed fights, and a really sad year as well, lost a lot of great boxers this year...

 

This has a been a bitter/sweet year in Boxing. The sweetness to all the Great fights we have had, a lot of hype to a lot of the fights as well, but then you have the bitterness side. Three great Boxers dying in one month and the canceled/PP fights hurt as well. I'ma go right now, but I'll come back later and post that this is the best year since...whatever year.

 

2009 is the best in the decade so far for me. No doubt.

 

07 was bettter.

 

09 started well but was nothing special from mid spring through most of the summer. Big names fighting does not equal the best year for boxing. ****, many of those fights you listed hasn't even happened yet. Just means the best year for those guys who got paid. Wouldn't expect WWM to know the difference.

 

2009 best of the decade and the last half of the year better than the first.
