Great year. Every year should be like 2009. And if the idiot and corrupt boxing business would get out of the fighters' way every year would be.

Definitely. Great year for boxing. 2008 was good too. Boxing fans are getting spoiled lol. I hope this keeps up, 'cause when it dies down, it could be for a long time.

yeah i was thinking this but the thing thing is it doesnt have to die down. there are always going to be big fights that can be made. i think that that the rise of mma (absolute horse **** for people who can't box) is making the decision for boxing's matchmakers and handlers that much easier. boxing isnt the only game in town for fight fans so its time to step it up and thats what has happened.

that said...i hope your not right...no offense intended whatsoever my friend :yep

The beggining and end were great - epic even - but let us not forget the completely dry early to late summer. all the cancellations, the so-so contests... - may to the end of august was a boon, unless i',m forgetting something?

Can't say I agree with how the thread title is worded because I happen to think 07 and 08 were both exceptional years for boxing, but 09 ended up being a good year for the sport with it's strong finish.

very great year, not to mention Mosley v Margarito, which started things off, yorgey v hearns was a good fight also in which they traded knockdowns but yorgey outclassed him
