How would the Haye that handled John Ruiz do against a semi-porky version of Tony Tubbs that gave Riddick Bowe all he could handle?

ooooo, that is tough. tubbs was out of shape and yet a damn skilled cutie. i think haye would have taken a horribly ugly decision based on workrate but made to look terrible. his rushes would not have worked against an opponent as slick and defensively cute as tubbs. tubbs would not have been able to offer up the amount of offensive resistance to take a decision but he'd win rounds and make haye look foolish on his way to a disputed loss

Haye would win this one hands down. Tubbs might extend David the whole twelve, though. How woulld Haye do against a prime 1985 Tubbs ? This would be a very close one. Maybe a Tubbs victory.

What's all this hype about David Haye ?
He's done nothing yet worthy of mention.

against 1985 tubbs i don't give the sloppy haye i've seen much of a chance of a decision. if he tightens up, shortens his punches and shores up his defense he would be able to knock tubbs out. tubbs was slick, smart and when at his best, on point. if we're talking prime i see the 85 tubbs taking a decision vs the current haye. however, if haye can remedy some of those flaws (glaring flaws), he could knock tubbs out

Tubbs would school him and probably stop him late. Too quick, too scientific. He's the farthest thing from a plodding mummy, a la Valuev and a 38 yr. old Ruiz.

I think Haye would score an upset victory over Tubbs, who shape would factor in this.

If Haye was showing some horrible technical issues with Ruiz in the other corner, I do not see how he is going to cope with super cutie Tony Tubbs in decent shape and up for one last big fight.

Haye is brave and would always have a chance of finishing the job by landing that right.

But I take Tubbs to slowly bust up Haye, deck him late in the fight and Haye's corner to pull their man out by the tenth.
