i have been saying this all along even before the margo fight. any fight for pacquiao now is almost a lose-lose situation if not floyd. pac is too good just to be matched with everyone and only floyd or guys from higher weight class like martinez can give him more legacy points.

**** on pacquiao for going after the money fights but at least he wants the floyd fight first.

Yeah, I have to agree. It would be a shame if Pac would fight Mosley after the latter's poor performance against Floyd and Mora. I guess age has something to do with that. Give the young fighters a chance i.e. Berto and others. Treat it as a tune up while waiting for Floyd's ass.

shane was past prime when he defeated margo and when he lost to floyd. not shot, but definitely not prime. he wasn't prime then and he has slipped a bit further now. no way should pac take a fight with mosley now.

jmm was impressive against katsidis, i thought he would have slipped a great deal already, but didn't. i prefer a 3rd fight with jmm but only at 140. i think this is a weight pac can easily make and wouldn't take too much out of jmm either.

What the heck with these *****, when someone mentioned Berto (young undefeated fighter) as one of possible opponent for Pacquiao, there are criticism from *****S that Berto is green.

The "new" batch of Pacquiao Fans who have recently joined ESB within the past several months and who have never really watched Boxing EVER!!! They're are the worst. As for who Pac will fight, who knows...I just don't understand why hoping he selects a Fast, Young, Athletically Gifted fighter is considered BLASPHEMY by his fans.

    :-(

In time Punisher, you'll figure out who to take seriously around here. Unlike most posters who try the band together to sway other posters into NOT liking someone...I let you figure it out on your own. It should'nt take long though. You'll see the same names over & over again poppin' in on everyone's thread not offering anything of Value...Just name calling, insults and profanity. Just treat em' like that ******ed kid at the Basketball court wanting to play with everyone else. Just give em a ball and send to the other court and let em play by themselves:-(.

Let's assume that's true. So if Not Floyd...their best Option is Mosley. Pac just beat a fighter that made Mosley look as if he was 25 again. These stiff-ass NO Defense Low Work-rate fighters is getting kinda' old now...IMO. I can recall a time when an Unknown young fighter from the Philippines was giving a chance and opportunity for a fight by a Future Hall of Famer in Marco Antonio Barrera...Pac can't do the same the Number of young Hungry Fighters who have been asking to fight Pacquiao...is that too much to ask?

    That's all I am Saying!!!

Yet this is their Best Option?

You know what is sad? Is that the more time passes, the more and more pac fans are starting to sound like Mayweather fans. :-(

Like I said though, its thankfully a minority of them.

Mosley is an old, borderline shot fighter (until he proves otherwise) who hasnt beaten a peer in two years.... Pac should be fighting a young, undefeated fighter coming off a good performence, and its not really that hard to see by anyone whos not being overly bias.

    IMO

I somewhat agree with this. Granted 24 months can be a long time in boxing, but at the end of the day Pacquiao still has three fighters who have been considered top 5 welterweights in the past 24 months.

He wouldn't get half as much criticism if he had faced Mayweather in early 2010 then went on to Margarito and then Mosley in 2011. Look at Joe Louis's career for example; he faced the best heavies at the time, but he also faced some bums in between, which his crew referred to as the 'bum of the month'. I'm not suggesting Pac's opponents are bums, they are certainly worthy opponents - maybe just not the absolute best of the best.

Erm, Darryl, but this is exactly what Pacquiao did with Oscar. From just one fight at 135, he was willing to move up to 147 to fight him.

But apart from that, I kind of agree with the rest. If they take Shane Mosley, then they deserve every criticism they recieve.

i perfectly understood why floyd fought hatton and oscar. but struggle to find why he would not fight cotto and pac when they are the biggest money fight around that time.

i struggle to find a replacement for pac right now that will give him a legacy fight. pac is a victim of a situation where he had just cleaned the weight-class and is waiting for the other man.

I don't think Pac is under any obligation to fight a Berto or any of these up and comers. . Pacquiao has done enough at this point. He's giving us so many great fights, I mean what more can you ask from him? Mosley is a pointless fight, but so is Berto. If not Floyd, Marquez is the only fight that means anything. He should settle the score with him and retire.

"he's youthful, he's fast, and he's strong. he's not a big puncher i dont think, but he's definitely a challenge." roach said of berto

there was a thread regarding this quote the other day, and majority of the comments there says roach is again cherrypicking.

Pac just fought barely a month ago. I'm sure fighting is the farthest thing on his mind now. All these match-ups are just hearsays now but atleast Pac is here to be criticized or be admired because he's active. As a pacfan yeah I agree Mosley fight is b.s., JMM fight he has nothing to gain but atleast a chance for him to finally stfu him., and Berto fight, still better than a Mosley fight.

I can see why Team Pacquiao would fight Mosley next, there are lots of reasons

    1) It'll probably sell more than any other fight bar Mayweather

    2) If he destroys Mosley in better fashion than Floyd then it's the next best thing to proving your better than Floyd than actually beating him yourself.

    3) Mosley has a better resume than any other logical opponent bar maybe Floyd.

    4) Mosley is in decline

    5) It'll give Berto a chance to fight maybe a Cotto and raise his stock should he win, something that would help PPV numbers should Pacquiao fight him next and also give Berto more credibility as an opponent.

I mean come on people, it's that simple.

Also, if Floyd is not fighting Manny because of the drug-testing then why doesn't he fight Berto if the consensus is that Berto is a fresh young talent ...... why are we not calling for Floyd Mayweather Jr to fight Andre Berto seeing as Pacquiao has just fought ?

Kinda crazy in here isn't it ...
