*2011 Fights of the Year Thread* - Porpramook/Yaegashi on post #64!

This thread is to allow us to to keep track of all the great fights this year.

If we get a great fight on HBO, Showtime or Sky we're all going to know about it but a lot of great tear-ups take place on obscure/smaller cards in places like Mexico and Japan.

So any fight that you think will be a contender for FOTY then post it in this thread - all the better if there's a YT video as well.

So watched Concecpion-Marquez...

Great scrap! The best action was in the early rounds and the last couple of rounds. I've being a bit of a Concepcion fan for a while now but his limitations were shown up in this fight - he has tremendous power, especially in that right hand but his jab is pathetic. All he does is paw with his jab a few times and then brings over a massive right hand.

Marquez boxed smart as a lefty, using his straight punches to great effect against the wild swinging Concepcion.

Marquez showed us in the Donaire fight that he does have talent but needs to work in the gym - he seems to have done that and had a smart gameplan. He fought Donaire at 115 but 112 seems to be his weight.

Concecpion is still very raw, hasn't developed at all since he picked up his strap a couple of years ago. You can tell that if he gets hold of a trainer that refines his technique and adds some intelligence to his boxing then he'll go far.
