Enjoyed loads of great fights this year, this just wasn't one of 'em, I know it looks bad coming from me (perceived as a moaning twat of course) but this just wasn't much of a fight!

 

Well I rewatched it and I still think Antillion put up a decent fight in the first two rounds.

Glad you've enjoyed some fights this year:good(and aren't threatening to turn your back on the sport!).
Actually been a good 12 months imo.

If James Kirkland has a chin after all, then him versus Angulo will be brutal. Angulo will take some punishment before hammering Kirkland by the seventh.

Flea, on a scale of one to potato, how mashed have you been for every post you've made regarding Rios-Antillon in this thread?

 

Lopez-Salido and Vasquez Jnr-Arce are two top fights that haven't been mentioned already

I just don't know what your basis for saying that Antillon threw ''powder puff punches'' is. He jarred Rios at the end of the second for Barry's sake! It's not a ''great'' fight technically, because it didn't last long enough, but I thought it was very, very good while it lasted. They both bothered each other on a couple of occasions before Rios landed a picture-perfect right hook, in my opinion they were on relatively even terms up to that point, Rios had the better but not to any great extent.

Think you're being overly-harsh on it to be honest.

(And I am also always stoned, which may be why I'm beginning to slip. )

Honestly 'Pab, don't see it. Antillon was game but did **** all to make it look like he was doing anything to win the rounds. I don't think he particularly buzzed Rios either, I thought it was a complete non-fight and don't think I'm being overly harsh, though I aprpeciate the response. I am cynical though, don't pay attention to anything I say I don't know much about modern boxing, maybe that's what constitutes a good fight nowadays?

EDIT: Choi Vs Asiku pissed all over Rios-Antillon :deal Rios-Acosta is still the FOTY so far for me.

He was clearly buzzed bro, I don't think that's arguable, he got caught with a right hand, froze, stepped back without responding, kind of the opposite to what happened every other time he got caught flush. I don't consider it a particularly good fight, it was kind of like a shorter Kirkland-Angulo without the sensational round, Antillon was getting his **** kicked but he made it a pretty good spectacle while it lasted, I merely disagree with how dismissive you're being.

 

Got the second part wrong, but the first part right. At least I picked Groves-Smith and Bute-Johnson right.

I really really enjoyed Groves belting Smith. It doesn't qualify as a fight of the year, but it made me happy.
