Who would have thought that Pacquiao vs Mosley would be a reality. Although some people (mostly Pac-Haters..Myself included) called this a joke of a fight long before it happened, BUT WHO KNEW ARUM WOULD **** US ALL WITH THIS BULL****!! And of course...Berto vs Ortiz was a bit of a shocker. But this past weekend, I went to the Annual M.B.J. Convention (Minorities in Broadcasting and Journalism). And had some great conversation with some well-respected and knowledgeable boxing Journalist/writers. And we discussed up-coming fights and some of us were SHOCKED at the proposed, confirmed, signed, rumored and negotiations of fights that absolutely NO-ONE SAW COMING!!! Here is a list. It's also on *****Boxing.com from Luis Collazo vs Cory Spinks - Collazo walked away because he didn't wanna fight in St. Louis. But They are working on a Change of Venue. Antonio Margarito vs James Kirkland - Although this fight only needs signature....Arum may say no. Because in a recent statement from Arum: "I have bigger plans for Margarito". Still would be a great fight!!! Alfonso Gomez vs Kell Brook - In London...But the Offer to Gomez was straight Bull****...But still could happen. Edwin Rodriguez vs Kelly Pavlik - 168lbs...Just waiting on Pavlik to sign. Mike Alvarado vs Vernon Paris - Signed....2 HOT Undefeated Prospects already placed on the Juanma/Salido card in PR. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs Ishe Smith - In Mexico....Nearly done according to a solid source, in May. David Lemieux vs Brian Vera - Vera earned himself a shot at Lemieux after beating Mora. Now All Lemieux has to do is win vs Rubio...DONE DEAL!!! JMM vs Kendall Holt - at 140lbs. So far...only brief talks. But it could happen. Cornelius K9 Bundrage vs Saul Alvarez - Would have been on the Collazo/Spinks card. Now it looks as if this may be a Main Event coming soon. Kermit Cintron vs Vanes Martirosyan - Nearly Done...Money is the issue (as always). Roberto Guerrero vs Anthony Peterson - Was ready to be signed...But when Team Peterson did not respond to the Final Offer....Guererro is Now fighting Katsidis April 9th. Now Peterson is working a deal with John Molina.
Damn, I'd like to see Cintron-Martirosyan. Interested to see how that goes down. Marti seems to really believe in his ability against anyone. JMM dominates Holt - Only needs to worry about his power.
Maidana lose his second title shot, Khan gets elevated to super champ and Maidana gets another shot at the vacant title against Morales  Talk about a legitimate world title
margarito vs kirkland would be ****en fantastic, its a shame one is with arum and the other with gbp.
What great fights. These are all good match ups. Im tired of people saying superfights like Floyd Pac are gonna save boxing **** that a bunch of good match ups that turn in great fights make people tune in Collazo-Spinks is a redemption fight for two former holders and I know Spinks isnt exciting but Collazo will bring it and make it a fight Gomez-Brook we finally get to see Gomez vs a young guy Pavlik makes his return something I look forward to JCC Jr takes on Ishe Smith a guy no fighter ever looks good against or beats clearly just asked other prospect Jame Kirkland Vera always seems to get an upset and Lemiux is young and from what I saw makes some mistakes I couldnt rule out Vera here, he did manage to out box the tricky Mora a guy that makes everybody look bad JMM vs Holt is good he looks to win above 135 to appease Arum when in reality he deserves the fight, he just needs to beat Holt and convincingly, oh and Holt can hit after all the calling out he did K9 is finally getting a high profile defense after beating Spinks and calling everybody out he would be that highly avoided titlist Im glad Canelo is taking a challenge for that first belt rather than a paper WBC, his best option would be wait for Sergey D but he may not stay at 154 Cintron Martosyian or however ya spell it has KO written all over it
If the Pac/May K.Bros/Haye won't happen then we need all the best we can get. I hope the fights you listed happens. Boxing needs a boost
No to shabby if you ask me....not great fights but good ones. A lot of fighters are reluctant these days to do their job so it of course has an effect on the match making.. But other than that it seems to be a decent year for boxing.
