2011 Wlad vs 1982 Tex Cobb

It's funny that over the course of 15 rounds with sucn an insane amount of power shots landing on Cobb's face he didn't get seriosly bruised or cut. In fact I don't think he was cut at all.

 

:huh:huh:huh 16 stoppages in 20 defences isn't featherfisted by any means.

For the record Cobb took everything Ernie Shavers could throw and walked through it and stopped him.

Holmes may not have been a monster punches but he could certainly crack a bit with his shots.

Against someone like Cobb I think Wlad would eventually open up some. I don't know if he stops Cobb but its a posiblity, depends a lot on who was the ref. No way Cobb wins this and the only real question would be does Wlad win by stoppage or points. I'd lean towards Wlad by UD.

As much as I like Wlad and think he stacks up well with most of the past heavyweights I think Holmes beats Wlad all day. Holmes was a complete fighter and had a great jab which seems to give Wlad some problems. Holmes by late stoppage against Wlad.

 

Most of them where stopped by referee. Bad chinned Shavers stood in front of larry who hit him with everything but couldn't drop him.
