Luke Jackson just lost to the cuban fighter Toledo 11-10. I thought it could've gone Jacksons way to be honest. The Cuban style isn't so successful these days, the tight guard and countering on the inside is the way the amateur game is now. Jackson fought with the high guard and walked him down, couldn't have done anything else.

Hooper won his fight against the Indian quite easily and looked very good. His Irish rival Joe Ward lost his fight. Ward looked fat, tired and wild in there. Don't know what the deal is with him.

    Hooper Books Olympic Spot

At Day 9 of the 2011 AIBA World Boxing Championships in Baku, Australian Light Heavyweight-Damien Hooper booked his place in the Quarter Finals as well as secured a spot in next years London Olympic Games with a convincing 16-7 points win over Indian-Dinesh Kumar.

Hooper now books a Quarter Final bout with Cuban Julio De La Cruz Peraza tomorrow for a chance to move into the final four.

Still to fight on Day 9 is Luke Boyd and Mark Basile both fighting for Quarter Final spots as well as an Olympic berth.

I watched Lomachenko on the 4/10 and he lost to a Brazilian by 1 point. On the results page for the 5/10 it shows Lomachenko fighting an Uzbeki and he won. Whats going on there??

The Ukranians appealed because the ref was a ****ing idiot who didn't know what he was doing. Lomachenko was reinstated and took the Brazillians place.

I thought Hooper looked a bit passive in that fight against his smaller opponent. Also what's with all the switch hitting he does now, he does it alot
