2011 world amateur boxing championships

they train to do it. its something the oz coaches got onto under bodo reign when they went to cuba. although hooper seems to be the only one who has taken to it.

i havent seen any of his fights this tourney (in fact i have only watch some highlights on you tube) but its supposed to be used as tactical way to attack - ie switch step and throw a southpaw lefts to the body-head. i'm not sure the idea in theory is to remain in the switched stance

i posted some of Basile sparing my young bloke but i've also got some hooper sparing that vic heavy i think his name is jason whately - i'll have a look to see if he was working on it there.

disappointing to see he lost - i thought he was cert to make the semi finals this year. i assume he'll stick around to have a crack at the olympics but after that he'll turn pro rather than stick around for the 2014 comm games.
