Ceferino Garcia and Thomas Hearns definitely.

There are many on that list who should be in already. I don't really like the HOF format for that reason.
It would be better if all the old-timers (I mean, early moderns in HOF terms) of note were put in automatically. And each year, ONE more recent fighter (usually a living person) gets in. Otherwise we just get these old-timers, 100% worthy, being left on the shelf indefinitely. Why wait until their grandchildren die of old age before they get recognized ?!

Of course Tommy's a unanimous lock. I'd be stunned if the momentum from last year doesn't sweep Ceferino in this time.

Who's number three? As TGA pointed out, only Shirai and Lesnevich are in the Ring BHOF but not Canastota. With Gus not on the ballot, Shirai could enjoy the same inside track which got Root to the IBHOF last year. However, a certain poster here sent highly visible smoke signals to fellow BWAA members, historians and other boxing aficionados back in March, April and May this year, and I'm very curious to see how that pans out.

TBH, outside of Hearns, this list doesn't seem all that spectacular to me. Don't get me wrong, there are some justifiable picks, but they're more "borderline" picks rather than actual "locks" IMO.

I suppose someone like Hamed has to be in, because he won all the titles and was the top man in his division for so long, but I don't think he was a truly great fighter.

By contrast, the "Old Timers" selection has guys that make you think, "Damn, he isn't in yet??"

Hearns fought in 2006. So he couldnt be there already.

    I was wondering that myself.

Given that the Hall already inducted Terry Norris some time back, omitting Julian Jackson is rather glaring.

Kingpetch may have had some really bad decisions go his way, but he was class and an icon back home.

In terms of fame I'm surprised he's not already in there.

Hamed above Marcel and Lora? I don't really see it personally.
