There isnt the same incentive for guys like Conlon and Barnes to go pro. The money isnt great at those divisions in the pros, and they can (ironically) probably make a better living staying "amateur". That said, I see Conlon following his bro into the pros eventually
true, what i don't like about guys in countries like ireland in the lower weight classes is when they do go pro they fight usually in divisions that are a bit too big for them in the pros id say Conlon should start off at bantemweight or super bantemweight Barnes could probebly make strawweight tbh
What was the name of that guy, maybe from Lithuania at lightweight (i'm guessing here)? He had a real fan friendly pro style. edit: I think it was Evaldas Petrauskas, but it doesn't look like he turned pro. The one decent Canadian, Custio Clayton, looks to be wasting his career in the amateur system. I don't understand why, I just read an article where he is complaining about the lack of funding and he is 27 already.
Evalas Petrauskas is signed up to APB boxing, the guys like a mini mike tyson Custio Clayton is pretty limited Steven Donnellly beat him at the 2014 commonwealth games
yeah, the mini Tyson. That's why he stood out. Hopefully it's nothing long term. As for the Canadian, I just read another article and he kinda sounds like an idiot. He wants to be pampered with the right offer to turn pro. Everyone has already forgot his London fights.
well apb boxing could become a huge force in pro boxing, they have some incredible boxers already he must be an idiot he should have taken a decent offer after the olympics if his now complaining about funding
