They'll never let him go pro, and he's already old for his weight class. After 2008 there was a lot of talk about letting him go pro to become China's first pro boxing champion, but it just never happened.

I think JJ Nevin can win at 56, Berinchik at 64, Vikas Krishan of India can surprise at 69, obviously Lomachenko, Joshua at s/heavy and Ward if he can get back in at 81.

They're a pretty good shout TBH.

They have to let Ward in after the Turkey fiasco and being the highest ranked 81kg fighter

I don't get why you guys watch Olympic boxing. So boring, plus they have to wear head gear. It's basically watching a bunch of quick teenagers sparring, or so it feels like it because of the head gear.

Don't care for Olympic hype for any sport, except maybe sprinting. Anyway, more power to you guys though for this thread.

    Here's a bump.

You weren't bothered for Ali, Leonard, Bowe, Roy Jones jnr (to mention a small few), then? You ****ing idiot.

Feel free to contribute (intelligently, unlike this post/poster I'm responding to).

The Olympics (boxing) are to a certain extent where champions are made, let's watch the fighters go.

Anthony Joshua is a good bet to end up with a gold.

He'll also look to turn pro soon after and seem's to have a style fitted to the pro game, big big future ahead of him if he keeps his feet on the ground and keeps his head screwed on.

I actually think GBs best boxer is Luke Campbell at 56kg, the same weight as Irelands best boxer John Joe Nevin. Both fought each other on a number of occasions with mixed results. Both have a very good chance of claiming gold. Heres their last fight
