21? Nice, he can develop further yet. Perfect start would be to go pro' after the Olympics and fight 8 times in his first year against okay opposition, but different styles, working up to a solid journeyman level by the last few fights. Essentially the opposite of what has been done with David Price.
Well he has good genes, his uncle is Felix Savon...once he develops his core strength and becomes studier he could be a handful, they way the cubans put punches together is top notch, Solis does it too, Perez but one got fat and the other im not sure if he is being managed properly. Price is a good fighter just a few things i dont like, he lowers head down, and uses his gloves to protect himself when in defensive mode, i could see punches coming through the guard whereas Savon moves his head by going to the side or ducks...just better skill. Yeah they are all young, Hrgovic 19 Savon 21 Dychko 21 Joshua 22 Joshua is the most raw but probably strongest physically, and you cant seem to bully him...whats remarkable about him is just 4 years of training.
Uysk is probably the most skillful but he is 25 and will most likely be a cruiser to start...so he needs to be matched often...10-12 times first year. There is an 18 old who Uysk fought in the final and looked real good. Anyhow this is why i said guys like Wilder, Fury, Mitchell will be shaking in there boots if they see this lot come through.
Its far more common for talented amatuers to fall short in the pro game than go on & win titles, especially in the HW division. Fury would beat Stiff Mitchell & Deontay Windmiller
I used to agree with this but not anymore. For starters - in some countries Amateurs get very well looked after also some of the sparring now is so good in those camps where 2 countries train together. Also in some countries now the ams are full time and with wsb they are slowly adapting. Stayin Amateur in a high class country that treats amateurs with full time care and world class sparring will pay off even if they turn pro mid 20's.
