Degale's friend, right? I've been the opposite with him.

 

Not a prospect but I'm excited to see how Selby develops this year. He really is one thats come out of nowhere, the domestic breakthrough of the year. Not just winning a couple of fights he was an underdog and relatively evens in, but pretty much dominating and stopping 2 previously unstopped opponents with some classy punching. Hope they don't fall into complacency this year, would like to see him kick on towards the European title.

 

Some people that follow the amateur scene will recognise the name, but Anthony Cacace is turning pro in January.

When Cacace was only 18 he beat Eric Donovan and Stephen Ormond in the Irish Senios but lost to Ross Hickey which is no disgrace in the final and boxed in European youths with JohnJoe Nevin and Con Sheehan.

McCrory ive never seen but beat the very talented Keiron Forde last year in the Irish youths only for Forde to be picked for the team but I dont know if McCrory was injured .

 

I'll throw one into the mix for the next 3 years. There's a young lad from Portsmouth called Joel McIntyre. He hasn't got great power and it showed in his first two bouts against "come to survive" opponents, but in his last bout he battered Billy Boyle around the ring and almost stopped him.

Why I like the look of him, good handspeed, excellent punch variety, boxes excellently on the outside and a solid counter-puncher.

He's being moved very slowly and as the boxing scene is quite poor he needs to get himself a bigger promoter. But this year I expect him to win 2-3 more fights and finally get that first win inside the distance.

he is going to shock alot of people. i think this cud b a great fight between 2 good boxers and fingers crossed my cuz will do the business and burst in to the mix domestically.

 

If he keeps out of trouble and stays active I think Glen Foot could be knocking on the doors of a domestic title fight come the end of 2012.

Skeete makes me cringe. I'm not sure why. Nothing against him, but I don't rate him at all

 

One that I don't think has been mentioned, and he's not particularly young or immensely talented BUT:

Dale Miles.

A southpaw, albeit a basic one, that seems to have a bit of a dig is always going to be a threat at domestic level. Could be interesting to see how he develops this year.
