2013 martinez vs barker

    i know martinez beat barker at 2011 but he has regressed and struggled mightly with martin murray who in my opinion clearlly lost sturm but got a draw how do you see it play out

    This is a pointless fight for Sergio. Sergio is at the end. He's looking for
    likely one big cashout.

    Martinez is ready to hang them up, one tuneup perhaps, then a big money fight to go out on his shield like the true warrior he is. I can't see where Barker fits into that picture. Anyways Marravilla's out of action 'til early 2014 from injuries.

    Despite earning the belt off Geale, and fighting his heart out, Barker ain't ever gonna be the 'big fight' guy that Sergio will want for his send off.

    Not sure. I rate Murray higher then Barker, and while it was close, contested, and controversial to some, Martinez got the W against him. Whether you feel Martinez lost or not, one has to admit it was a close fight either way, with Martinez winning the 12th round to close the show.

    I still say that todays Martinez (if injury free) would win against Barker, though probably doesn't stop him, as the 2011 Sergio did.
